I am a sucker for jewellery. But not just any kind of jewellery. It has to be some sort of object. It has to be everyday objects like a chain with a birdcage attached to it. Or a ring with a teacup & saucer on it! I don't tend to go for the "normal" sort of jewellery. To me, most jewellery is very samey. Unless it has something unexpected in it. So here are my March favourites:

A cute teacup & saucer with a rabbit and a silver heart. Obvs inspired by Alice in Wonderland. I have been absolutely loving the whole Alice in Wonderland theme that's been going around! It seems to have inspired designers of fashion and jewellery to come up with some fantastic ideas.

As soon as I spotted this in the shop, I had to have it. A long faux pearl chain with a carousel attached to it. The ickle horses actually move around by itself!

And last but certainly not least, a rustic looking chain with a set of keys. Peace, Love and Hope seems to be about a lot on jewellery recently but most of it looks a bit tacky. When I saw this, I hurtled straight to the counter, knocking over several old ladies and pushchairs on the way... Ok, so I never really knocked anyone over, but I would have!

All these necklaces were purchased from my favourite shop of all time - yep, it's Topshop. They have a high stock turnover so there is always something new in every week. And the jewellery is a bit different, at least some of it anyway. Just keep your eyes peeled.

I'll probably be doing a few more of these posts in the near future, as jewellery is fast becoming my new obsession!

  2. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on jewelry. Sometimes the stories of people behind jewelry is just as interesting as the items themselves!

  3. I love the teacup and saucer necklace! Swarovski has done some pretty cool AIW-inspired jewellery too (http://www.swarovski.com/Web_US/en/91135/promotion/Disney.html) - I quite like the Mad Hatter necklace...

  4. @desiiGirl87 - Thank you muchly! :) Get yourself down to Topshop!

    @Hebrew Jewelry - Perhaps, but most of the jewellery today is mass produced and they may not be that great a story behind it but the best jewellery is often the unique handmade pieces and they undoubtedly have a good story behind them.

    @TheKiwiBex - Oooooh! It looks pretty! But it's $150?!?! That's a bit steep :O
