OUTFITS // Retro Prints
Tuesday, March 18, 2014It's been a while, hasn't it?
Finally I've managed to get off my derrière and give the blog a bit of a spring clean. I've been complaining for ages now that the whole layout could do with a bit of a refresh, so last week I gave it a good clean out. How different does it look in white?
Anyways, to the outfit!
On my regular forays around the internet hunting for fresh new things, I often find myself on Alibaba looking at all the wonderful clothing being produced out in China, India and the like for our Western consumption. It's an exercise riddled with contradictions though as I can never buy anything there, firstly each manufacturer has a 'Minimum Order Quota' ranging from 10 to 10 thousand and secondly you can never be 100% certain that the clothing wasn't made by children locked up for 16 hours a day in a sweatshop.
This dress is one that I saw variations of on Alibaba, that I actually found over at Sheinside going for a steal at just £23. I was umming and ahhing for a little while wondering if it was made in a sweatshop in Shanghai and because of the collar. I really don't like collared dresses but the print on this swayed me: it oozes retro allure and is practically art on a dress. Collar or not, I was having it!

The more observant among you may have noticed that the whole outfit appears to be perfectly colour coordinated, however I didn't notice this until it was pointed out to me! Maybe I should be taking the credit for it though? ;)
You may also have noticed there's a flat next door up for rent, any Mancunian bloggers out there want a fun neighbor? Ha!
Have you had a recent revamp on your blog or bought any exquisite dresses lately?

I hadn't noticed the collar on your dress until you mentioned it as the artwork is what people tend to see when they see the dress. It really suits your image. Love your bracelet!
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit but your hair is even more amazing :)
