In all honesty, I’d never heard of Druzy or Druzy Gems until the other week. Druzy is the glittering effect of tiny crystals over the top of a
colourful mineral. A Druzy gem stone grows over millions of years, is
relatively inexpensive when compared with diamonds, but they do have a certain sparkle to them. Very impressive, no?

By chance I happened to come across a photo of some Druzy stones on my travels around the internet and wondered if there was any jewellery out there making use of their beauty. As it turns out there are plenty, but the ones featured today aren’t quite so impressive as they’re dupes made out of that exotic material we call plastic, ha!

I’m always cheap when it comes to purchasing jewellery, I’m so fickle with it that I just know I’ll always end up getting bored quickly so very rarely splash out. That being said, these faux-Druzies are very pretty, and the fact that I’d be wearing a little piece of our planet that started growing millions of years ago is fascinating, so much so, I could even be tempted to buy the real thing.

It’s hard to seperate the two of them, but I’m leaning towards the blue one as it has a little bit of added depth that can’t quite be matched by a colourless gem. When the light hits, it gives off a dazzling rainbow glimmer!

The rings are adjustable, so can fit fingers of all shapes and sizes and don’t occupy too much space on your fingers. I managed to bag these two little beauties from eBay for just £6.50. Bargain!

I absolutely love druzies but, alas, I don't have many in my collection and I can't buy the ebay plastic version due to a ridiculus allergy. So I'll content myself with admiring yours 🙂 The blue one really looks spectacular in these photos!
