GLITTER

I've always wondered why it is that Autumn/Winter fashion trends tend to exclude glittery, shiny, pretty things. Apart from Christmas time of course, when it's perfectly acceptable - nay, compulsory - to wear said glittery, shiny, pretty things. In my humble opinion, glitter really ought to be an all year thing. Why restrict ourselves to just a month or so of sparkle? WHY?

I've read a lot of reviews on Jeffree Star's lipsticks over the past few months, and I've found it remarkable just how many of the reviewers have been following him 'from the beginning' - with such a huge fanbase upon launch, it's no wonder his lipsticks have been a roaring success! Me on the other hand, I'd never even heard of the guy until I saw a few of his photos appear on the 'Popular' page of Instagram.

Personally, I have my very own signature scent which is of course Chloe. I've been spritzing myself with Chloe for years, and even though I've been through more than my fair share of perfumes, Chloe will always be the one for me. It's so distinct and instantly recognisable that people can scent my approach from around corners!

There was even a time where I had two Chloes on the go, how naughty of me, one at home and one in my handbag - an expensive habit, no doubt. The reason being, it was nice to have a lunch-time pick-me-up, something to make me feel fresh again halfway through the daily grind.

Winter is a truly horrible thing for a part-time blogger. Not only do we have to deal with the cold, the rain, the wind and overall darkness like everyone else, we also have to figure out ways of making sure the blog keeps going through all of this. That pretty much means that a large chunk of at least one day every weekend is dedicated to taking photos, because during the working week, we have no free sunlight hours to help us out.

So imagine then, you've went out on the Saturday, to have a little fun (what's that again?!) and put your feet up - a well earned day away from working and blogging, only to wake up on Sunday morning and see it lashing it down outside, with thick, grey, overcast skies that look like they're never going to clear up. Ugh, winter. Why do you torment me so?

My love for all things sparkly is well known by now, but just in case you were thinking that my love only reaches as far as lipsticks, nail polishes, eyeshadows, jewellery or clothes, I thought this post would help to set that particular record straight!
