Hello lovelies! It's been a slow month blogging-wise, but I'm looking to make a 'comeback' in July - hopefully with a bit of a refresh on the actual layout of the blog. I'm thinking the current theme is starting to look a little dated, and it's time to bring the look of the place back up to scratch.

But this look though. Wow. I had a lot of fun making it! I was sat in front of the mirror, casually admiring myself (as you do), thinking about what makeup look I can try, when my glitterbox jumped out at me. It got me thinking, I was constantly delving into it in the Winter, always looking to add a little sparkle to my looks during the cold, dark, wet days, but now that Summer's here - allegedly, at least - I've barely even opened it!

So, the idea with this look was quite simply to go a little crazy with colour and sprinkle on some glitter using my trusty Glitter Helper from Lime Crime. Once the glitter started to go on, I thought 'fuck it, let's go all out' and went for a galactic explosion look, with glitter erupting across the temples, and stars littered around the lids. The final look turned out really well, and it just goes to show, you don't always need to plan it out!

I love how the close-ups of this look make it appear exactly how I imagined it as I started playing around: like an organised mess! Playing around with the focus on my camera also gives such an incredible bokeh feel to various different aspects of the look - the green glitter on the lids, and the gold glitter on the temples really stand out.

I used various different eyeshadows as a base for the look, before applying my beloved glitters on top with a little help from Lime Crime's Glitter Helper. All in all there are four different types of glitter in there: stars, stripes, tiny dots and larger hexagons. Those hexagons were an absolute gem of a find on eBay, flaky glitter suitable for cosmetic use, whilst the rest are a mixture of Stargazer and Lime Crime. The key is not to bother too much about what you use or who made it though, it's all about art. Just pick up your brush, dab it in some glitter, and let your mind run wild!

  2. Love this look!! I tend to steer away from glitter in the summer months too for some reason, even though its perfect for festivals! I have a Stargazer pigment from years ago that I bought whilst in Brighton, I didnt know they did glitters. Gonna have to find a way to get my hands on some! xx

  6. I love this, it's SO beautiful. I wish I could get as creative as you, I really want to get some Stargazer glitters and just play around with them, as I've never actually used glitter in my makeup before except, like, glitter eyeliner. I've done some make-up looks I love that I haven't planned out, so I totally agree with you there. In fact, I prefer not to plan at all as I can sometimes be a little disappointed when it doesn't turn out the way I want it to/thought it would!
