Who is Fashionicide?
I’m Lima, based in Manchester, UK, and unbelievably I’ve been blogging since 2009. That’s basically 15 years. The focus of the blog has changed a lot over the years, mostly because it’s reflected my own journey of self-discovery. It’s meandered around between fashion, makeup, Southeast Asian skincare, haircare and occasional rants about stuff I feel passionately about, but is now going in the direction of fragrances.
You won’t find any certifications or degrees on any of those topics here, just plain old experience and passion. When I get into something, I go all in, which is why people trust my opinions. I may not be “board certified” or a “professional”, but I find these terms are thrown around without much thought anyway, almost as the sole way of proving their legitimacy. Regardless of where you get your advice, remember that most of these people have financial skin in the game, so always do your own research too.
I also don’t allow brands to dictate what I can and can’t say about their product. I’m not gonna promote a bad product for a few quid, this isn’t a source of income for me anyway, it’s just a thing I do to let my creativity out to play, and a place where I can rant and rave about things I love or hate.
