Face Lace Spring Summer 2016 (5 of 7)
Aren’t stickers just amazing? They’re so versatile. You can make notes on them, you can put them somewhere to remind of you of things and you can even put them on your face! Whilst in Japan I was constantly on the lookout for the most kawaii stickers possible (plot twist: I found loads), and even found the time to plonk a few on my face during the trip.

But nobody does stickers quite like *Face Lace. I remember the day I first came across them, at LFW, whilst everyone else was paying attention to the fashion, I was sat with the makeup artists, truly fascinated by these intricate designs being stuck on the faces of the models. My LFW post was almost entirely dedicated to these intriguing stickers, and I’ve been a friend to, and fan of, the brand ever since.
So as you might imagine, I’ve been very, very excited about their S/S 16 collections ever since I first cast my eyes upon some of the designs on their Instagram page. Not only are the designs intricately cut into these stickers, they’re also in my favorite colours – Holographic and Iridescent! And before anyone says anything, they are both totally colours, so be quiet pls.
*Face Lace kindly sent me a couple of pieces from the collection, out of the blue, after I got back from Japan, offering me some much needed post-holiday-blues relief. I tried out the Eye-lobe Stars, which is a design comprised of two stickers to be placed around the eyes. I did just that, allowing them to overlap slightly. When sun’s rays started peering through the window as I was applying, the reflected light bounced off on to the walls and formed a little mini-rainbow – a good omen!

My own approach is to apply the stickers after I’ve applied some eye makeup. Part of the idea behind *Face Lace is that you don’t really need to apply colours or designs around the eyes, as the designs will  do plenty of talking but I always like to go that extra mile and push the limits, so I combine the stickers with my own look. Whichever you go for, no need to worry about damaging the stickers whilst applying makeup – they’re as strong as an ox.
One thing that really sets them apart from the rest, aside from the phenomenal designs, is the fact that you can actually re-use the stickers. They’re not just a one-time only thing to be disposed of at the end of the day, oh no, you can use these over and over again. All good things come to and end though, as they say, it’s just that you get a lot more wear and tear out of these than your standard stickers that start to slide off within half an hour of applying them – particularly if you have oily skin like me.
So at the end of the day, after peeling off the *Face Lace sticker, you can actually feel the stickiness left behind on the back. YES. It goes back into it’s original transfer sheet, ready to be worn again another day.
