 Hello m'dears!

This post is way overdue. I've lost count of how many times I've mentioned in my posts recently that 2013 has been the year of experimentation, and this post is really all about that. I'm still going at it, this time I'm trying out something new with my eye liner. If you've got steady hands, use them!

I've been going a bit Pop Art crazy with my eye make up lately but this look gets away from that and focuses much more on colour, raw colour. Colour really adds some drama to the eyes, and where would we be without it? Pleasantville?

I have to admit something though: I'm terrible at naming things. I struggled for ages to come up with one for this look, and then along comes Maryam who commented on an Instagram photo of it, saying it looked like Butterfly Wings. Perfect, I couldn't agree more!

I didn't aim for a butterfly look, but I can't get over just how beautiful and elegant they are. They come in all different shapes, sizes and colours and the area of Manchester I live in seems to be full of them in summer. So who knows, perhaps subconsciously I was going for the butterfly effect?

Ok, so it doesn't look exactly like Butterfly wings, but cut me some slack: I'm an amateur!

To get this look, I used Sleek's Ultra Matte V1 Bright Palette. This has to go down as one of those innocuous little purchases, those ones where you think: 'Yeah, I might use that sometime or other.' Let's just say I didn't expect any fireworks from it. And I certainly didn't expect to use it so much that the palette lid would break off and that I'd hit pan on half of the shades! Note to self: Repurchase!

If you've been following my blog and/or my Instagram, I hope you've enjoyed my eyeliner journey this year and have been inspired to try something a little different too. It's been great fun for me, but stay tuned: I'm working on a couple more that I'll share in the coming weeks!

Until then, Au Revoir!
